ISRO launched India's largest Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3) rocket from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.

The rocket carried a payload of 36 satellites into orbit, making it a record-breaking launch for ISRO.

The LVM3 rocket, standing at 43.5 meters tall and weighing 643 tonnes, lifted off from the second launch pad rocket port carrying OneWeb's final installment of 36 Gen1 satellites.

The LVM3 is a three-stage rocket with the first stage fired with liquid fuel, the two strap-on motors powered by solid fuel, the second by liquid fuel, and the third is the cryogenic engine.

The countdown to the launch of LVM3 began on Saturday.

The launch was part of a commercial arrangement, where 36 OneWeb Gen-1 satellites would be launched into 450 km circular low earth orbit with an inclination of 87.4° from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) located at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

OneWeb is a global communication network powered from space that enables connectivity for governments, businesses, and communities, with India's Bharti Enterprises serving as a major investor and shareholder in OneWeb.
